Manufacture of ferroconcrete components

In 2002, the Joint stock company "Baltic Sea Port" looked at the real estate market in Latvia and decided to renew the manufacture of ferroconcrete building parts for the construction of the 119th series housing units which are listed in the general plan of Rīga.

Today, these buildings are being put up in line with new designs, and they differ from Soviet-era 119th series buildings in a number of ways:
the planning of rooms is far more rational
materials which conform to state-of-the-art building requirements are being
used
there are modern heating and ventilation systems - one for each flat
there are more extensive communications, including cable television,
the Internet and a door-phone
there are many different options to texture and paint building facades,
which means that it will be possible to harmonise any new building with
the construction styles that exist around it
there are different layouts for flats. Flats of different sizes and layouts can
be built in a single stairwell, non load-bearing walls can easily be
transformed in existing flats, too. That means that standard layouts can
easily be changed

The panels for the buildings are manufactured from the best materials - cement from Brocēnu Cements, rinsed gravel from Garkalne, stone fragments from Pļaviņas and steel frameworks from Russia. The panels are manufactured through the collision technology method, as a result of which the surface of each ferroconcrete panel is more dense and almost ideally smooth. The measurements of the panels are also more precise.

It takes between two and four months to put together a building, and then another three to four months to do the interior work.
